Concert Photos and Review: Tegan and Sara @ Kool Haus - 01.20.2010

Tegan and Sarah @ Kool Haus

Time, good writing and great melodies have made all the difference for Tegan and Sara. The twins played the Kool Haus for their second sold out show in Toronto in as many nights. Twelve years and a much greater fan base than Tegan herself recalled explaining to the crowd that when they first played in Toronto it was at Holy Joe's to about eight people. The girls started off the night playing "Arrow","Don't Rush", and "The Ocean" from their latest release.

After hearing a few more from "Sainthood" the crowd roared as Tegan and Sara started into the older "Walking With A Ghost", "Back In Your Head" from "The Con" and the current single "Hell".

Tegan and Sara were coming off a performance at Massey Hall a venue I would have thought suited them much better than the Kool Haus. However, I was proven wrong as the sound of their harmonizing against the wonderful acoustic guitar on "Someday" engulfed the venue and crowd wonderfully.

One of the things that makes a Tegan and Sara show so great is the banter and how it connects them to their audience.
This connection to their very loyal fans peaked when Tegan asked the fans to help sing the first verse of "Call It Off" after an unfortunate cough/choking incident. The crowd responded with such a sweet and warm rendition of the lovely tune I have to say it rivalled any of the best sing alongs I've heard anywhere.
