When I first heard about the original Wolfmother split I was pretty disappointed. Being a fan of the trio's first album the self titled "Wolfmother" it seemed quite the bitter pill at the time. Still Andrew Stockdale vowed to keep Wolfmother going strong and this time bringing along guitarist Aidan Nemeth, Ian Peres bass/keys, and drummer Dave Atkins the new lineup stayed true to form.
Wolfmother stepped out to the stage ready to rock the Kool Haus with their much criticized Zeppelin/Ozzy influenced sound. Stockdale leads the band with his powerful vocals and was nothing short of brilliant on "White Unicorn", "New Moon Rising" and "Woman" which received one of the nights loudest ovations. The rest of the boys from down under provided great support and lots of energy specially Ian Peres who jumped from bass to keys at a moments notice. Wolfmother was and still is a great hard rocking band that must be seen live. They played one of the best shows I've seen at the Kool Haus in a while.
