Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker ( USS ) made yet another stop in Barrie @ The Mansion Nightclub. This was the first night of their Highway to Health tour across Western Canada. It's always fun to see USS play live and even better in a small venue. Along with them were The Ascot Royals on warm up duty.
The Ascot Royals:
The Ascot Royals have the distinction of being the first band to win the Edge 102.1's Indie Online contest and with good reason. One trip to the The Ascot Royals @ myspace page and you'll hear for yourself. The band have a Brit rock sound mixed with some good heavy blues guitar. Initially I thought it was strange to pair up The Ascot Royals with USS. However watching their energetic set quickly brushed away any such thoughts. I'll be glad to see them again sometime soon.
Ubiquitious Synergy Seeker ( USS ):
Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker. I've said it before these guys are pure energy! It is so easy to see why their fans are so loyal and why they'll keep growing their fanbase. St. Patrick's day marked the second time USS played a show in Barrie in the last three months. Green beer, Ash, Kebob, the Twilight cast, Sarah Palin and a fruit smoothie … a recipe for success no ? They joked, they played, they jumped, they danced, they surfed, they did it all and then some. Playing songs from their "Welding the C:/" EP and the very highly praised "Questamation" USS pounded us with a shot of adrenaline and left as begging for more.
